Project Search Visit at New College

Several learners attended an assessment day for Project Search at New College on 6th May 2025.

DFN Project Search is a one-year transition to work programme designed to challenge and change cultures, demonstrating how young people with a learning disability can enrich the workforce.

The programme will provide vital work-based learning opportunities, with a view to helping the interns develop their employability skills as well as providing hands-on experience in the workplace.

Learners were given tasks to complete, such as, packing an order and sealing a box, moving a patient in a wheelchair and using a telephone to have a conversation and had to attend a 1:1 interview with staff from Great Western Hospital.

All learners thoroughly enjoyed the day, and Green Labyrinth was extremely proud of how well learners engaged in the process. Learner Kylen said, “it was great fun!”

Congratulations to Sarah, Thomas and Jacob who have all secured a place with Project Search for next academic year.
