Our Work Experience Process
Meaningful experiences of work are incredibly valuable for developing confidence, self-awareness, discipline and essential employability skills. These include workshops, insight days, virtual work experience and in-person placements.
To match learners to the most appropriate experience, we follow a clear process which helps us measure a learner’s work-readiness. Please watch the video below which explains our work experience process in more detail:
Our staff have worked incredibly hard to connect with local employers to be able to offer our learners a range of experiences this academic year. A big thank you to all of the employers who have offered placements to our learners!
What is Virtual Work Experience?
Lots of companies offer virtual placements, where learners can work remotely without having to go into the workplace. Here, they gain skills and knowledge to help them with future employment.
This is a great way to explore careers, build skills and shape career goals.
2 key sources for virtual work experience are:
Springpod: This pdf has a range of Virtual Work Experience opportunities grouped by industry. They are all on Springpod and you need an account to access them. These programmes are plug and play and you can work at your own pace
Futures For All: This website has a range of opportunities which are delivered live by employers. You need to apply for them and provide key information in order to take part
